The Red Cross in Roanoke is hoping to attract younger donors by offering a new way to make appointments. Local Red Cross spokesman Bob Lutjen says they’re using a QR code on things like mailers, post cards, posters and flyers. Smartphone owners can scan the code to make blood donation appointments.
